Chateau de Pitray is primarily a blend of 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Cabernet Franc. We found the 2010 Chateau de Pitray to show a nose of black fruit, plum, cigar box, cedar, vanilla. We found on the palate an interesting structure with dusty tannins, plums, cedar, and other dark berry fruits that is followed by a nice long finish. All and all the 2010 Chateau de Pitray is a lot of bang for your buck. Drink now or over the next 2-4 years.
