NV Gruet Brut Rosé (New Mexico)
Pinot Noir made by a French family at an altitude of 4,300 feet, near Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. Vibrant color, great berry fruit, quite elegant. The perfect way to start off the 4th, with an American sparkler.

2006 Foris Pinot Blanc (Oregon)
From the Rogue Valley in southern Oregon, this is richly textured Pinot Blanc at a ridiciulously low price. In true Alsatian style, with a bit of minerality to rope in the melon and ripe pear fruit. Serve on its own or with sushi-grade tuna.

2006 Trinchero Family Chardonnay (Santa Barbara County)
One of California's oldest winemaking families produces delicious everyday Chardonnay, perfect balance of ripe fruit, framed in with just a hint of oak. Not a fruit bomb, and a good candidate for summer "house white," to be paired with a lobster in the rough.

2005 Trentadue Zinfandel (Sonoma County)
Zinfandel is a true American success story, a grape that exists only in our country, and Trentadue is a master at producing a rich but approachable style. 76% Zin, 20% Petite Syrah, 4% Syrah is the blend, with big, bold spicey black raspberry fruit. Here's your hamburger and hot dog red!

2005 Il Cuore Barbera (Mendocino)
Italian immigrants brought over grape cuttings from the Old World back in the 1800's, so this Barbera is a tribute to its brethren in Piedmont, Italy. Has a bit of the Old World charm, with touches of leather and licorice, yet it retains its New World roots with bright fruit (11% Zinfandel adds plum and spice notes). With grilled pizzas or sausages.

2006 Trinity Oaks Pinot Noir (California)
It's been very hard to locate bargain Pinot Noir in the post-Sideways era but we are very happy with the Trinity Oaks. Varietally correct, smooth in ttexture, lively cherry fruit, touch of mint and underbrush. Can stand a slight chill on a warm summer evening! Serve with nothing... or chicken... or fish!
