Viña Real Crianza 2004
 |
|
BN#233673 |
Vina Real is located on the “Cerro de la Mesa” hill in Rioja Alavesa. The soils of this area are best for growing the Tempranillo grape. Mostly Tempranillo with a bit of graciano, Mazuelo and Garnacha added for blending. After fermentation this wine was put into large American oak casks where it aged for 12 months. The wine exhibits ripe autumn red and purple fruit, raspberries, plum and a hint of toasty vanilla. It is rich, deep and well balanced with a hint of dust tannins, balancing acidity and a long elegant finish.
Wine Enthusiast
Quite ripe for a traditional crianza. The bouquet starts out on the stewy side but soon sheds its weight to reveal flavors of blackberry, black cherry and earth. The mouthfeel is a bit creamy due to the wine’s mild oak and overall ripeness. Drink now through 2010.
